IAUSUBS@CFA.HARVARD.EDU or FAX 617-495-7231 (subscriptions) CBAT@CFA.HARVARD.EDU (science) URL http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iau/cbat.html (7088) ISHTAR V. Reddy, Department of Space Studies, University of North Dakota, Grand Forks; R. Dyvig, Quinn, SD; P. Pravec and P. Kusnirak, Ondrejov Observatory; and S. Gajdos, A. Galad, and L. Kornos, Modra Observatory, report that photometric observations obtained during 2006 Jan. 23 to 29 reveal that minor planet (7088) is a binary system with an orbital period of 20.65 +/- 0.02 hours. The primary rotates with a period of 2.6790 +/- 0.0002 hours, and its lightcurve amplitude of 0.11 mag is indicative of a nearly spheroidal shape. The secondary is moderately elongated, and it rotates synchronously with orbital motion. Mutual eclipse/occultation events that are 0.18- to 0.21-mag deep indicate a secondary-to-primary mean-diameter ratio of 0.42 +/- 0.02.
