SUPERNOVA 2006aw IN ESO 85-G38
     N. Morrell, G. Folatelli, and S. Gonzalez, on behalf of the Carnegie
Supernova Project, report that spectroscopy (range 380-930 nm) of SN
2006aw (IAUC 8690; CBET 434), obtained with the 2.5-m du Pont telescope
(+ WFCCD spectrograph) at Las Campanas Observatory on Mar. 22.02 UT,
shows it to be a type-Ia supernova with a spectral-feature age (Riess et
al. 1997, A.J. 114, 722) of about 2 weeks past maximum light.
