S. Wong, D. Pooley, and A. V. Filippenko, University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of CCD spectra (range 330-1040 nm), obtained on Oct. 24 UT with the Lick 3-m telescope (+ Kast) shows that 2006gs (IAUC 8754) and 2006jb (IAUC 8760) are type-II supernovae. Adopting a recession velocity of 7400 km/s for SN 2006gs (found from narrow emission lines), the minimum of the H-alpha P-Cyg absorption is found to be blueshifted by 6200 km/s. Although the spectrum of SN 2006jb is quite noisy, the emission component of H-alpha is much stronger than the absorption component (if there is any), indicating that it may be a type-IIL supernova. Examination of the spectrum of 2006kf (CBET 686) shows it to be a type-Ia supernova, having a spectral-feature age (Riess et al. 1997, A.J. 114, 722) of -5.3 +/- 2 days relative to B-band maximum. Adopting the recession velocity of 6386 km/s (Huchra et al. 1999, Ap.J. Suppl. 121, 287), the minimum of the Si II 635.5-nm absorption is found to be blueshifted by 12600 km/s.
