Ganeshalingam, and A. V. Filippenko, University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of a CCD spectrum (range 330-1040 nm), obtained on Oct. 30 UT with the Lick 3-m telescope (+ Kast), shows that 2006lg (cf. CBET 706) is a type-II supernova. Removing the recession velocity of 9090 km/s (Huchra et al. 1999, Ap.J. Suppl. 121, 287), the minimum of the H-alpha P-Cyg absorption line is found to be blueshifted by 10300 km/s.
