Turatto, and E. Cappellaro, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, report that a spectrum of 2007K (cf. CBET 812), obtained on Jan. 17.87 UT with the 3.5-m TNG (+ DOLORES; range 340-810 nm, resolution 2 nm), shows it to be a type-IIn supernova. The spectrum closely resembles that of SNe 1999eb and 2003G (Asiago Supernova Archive). Spectrum has a blue continuum, superimposed by emissions due to H_alpha, H_beta, and H_gamma lines. H_alpha shows a composite profile consisting of a narrow (unresolved) component superimposed to a broader (FWHM about 3100 km/s) component.
