Gray report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.9) on an image taken with a 0.35-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, on Jan. 26.10 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search; 2007R was confirmed at mag 16.5 by T. Orff with a 0.60-m reflector on Jan. 27.12. The new object is located at R.A. = 7h46m37s.53, Decl. = +44o47'22".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is 1".9 west and 3".9 south of the center of UGC 4008. Nothing is visible at this location on images taken by Puckett on 2005 Dec. 25 (limiting mag 19.0).
