Martin, Perth Observatory, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 16.5) on red CCD images taken on Apr. 18.862 and 19.843 UT with the Perth/Lowell Automated Telescope in the course of the Perth Automated Supernova Search. The new object is located at R.A. = 22h48m05s.44 +/- 0".1, Decl. = -47o13'54".3 +/- 0".1 (equinox 2000), which is about 18".9 west and 21".6 north of the center of the galaxy ESO 239-G1. Nothing is visible at this location on archived images of this galaxy taken on 2006 Oct. 24.
