Birchall, Institute for Astronomy, University of Hawaii, Hilo; and J. Cough and J. Holtzman, New Mexico State University, Las Cruces) reports the discovery of two supernovae in images obtained using the QUEST-II camera on the Palomar Oschin 1.2-m Schmidt telescope, operated by the Palomar-QUEST Consortium. Spectra (range 320-1000 nm), obtained on Aug. 28.5 and 28.6 UT with the SuperNova Integral Field Spectrograph on the University of Hawaii 2.2-m telescope show both supernovae to be near maximum. The R-band discovery magnitudes and astrometry below were derived from comparison with the USNO-B1.0 catalogue. SN 2007 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl.
