Electronic Telegram No. 1082 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION M.S. 18, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, MA 02138, U.S.A. IAUSUBS@CFA.HARVARD.EDU or FAX 617-495-7231 (subscriptions) CBAT@CFA.HARVARD.EDU (science) URL http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/cbat.html SUPERNOVA 2007kc IN UGC 8400 A. Dimai, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, on behalf of the CROSS program (cf. IAUC 7373), reports the discovery by M. Villi of an apparent supernova on unfiltered CCD images (limiting mag about 18.0) taken on Sept. 21.78 (at mag about 15.8) and 23.25 UT (mag about 15.7) with the 0.5-m "Ullrich" telescope at Cortina d'Ampezzo. The new object is located at R.A. = 13h21m34s.92, Decl. = +42o16'50".0 (equinox 2000.0), which is 10" west and 4" south of the nucleus of the galaxy UGC 8400. A CROSS image of the same field taken on 2006 June 30 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 18.5), and 2007kc does not appear on Palomar Sky Survey red and blue plates.
