Christensen, Gemini Observatory, report the CRTS discovery of an apparent supernova in unfiltered Catalina Sky Survey (CSS) images: SN 2009 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. Offset 2009W Feb. 2.55 16 23 45.60 +11 44 07.0 17.9 17".5 W, 16".2 S The host galaxy, SDSS J162346.79+114423.2, has Gunn magnitudes u = 19.0, g = 17.5, r = 17.1, i = 16.9, and z = 16.8, and redshift z = 0.017. Further magnitudes for 2009W: 2008 Sept. 28.13 UT, [20.2 (CSS); 2009 Feb. 3.45, g = 18.6, r = 18.0, i = 18.1 (Palomar 1.52-m telescope + Gunn filters).
