Gonzalez, P. Gonzalez, P. Lopez, S. Silva, G. Folatelli, D. Iturra, R. Cartier, F. Forster, S. Marchi, and A. Rojas, Universidad de Chile; G. Pignata, Universidad Andres Bello; B. Conuel, Wesleyan University; and D. Reichart, K. Ivarsen, J. Haislip, A. Crain, D. Foster, M. Nysewander, and A. LaCluyze, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on behalf of the CHASE project, report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 15.5 +/- 0.2) on an R-band image taken on Sept. 1.01 UT with the 0.41-m 'PROMPT 5' telescope located at Cerro Tololo. The new object, which is also present in an image taken on Sept. 2.01 at mag approximately 15.4, is located at R.A. = 22h40m10s.35 +/- 0".1, Decl. = -66o28'06".4 +/- 0".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 82".8 west and 38".9 north of the center of the galaxy NGC 7329. Nothing is visible at this position on archival images taken on Apr. 23.35 and Aug. 10.13 (limiting mag 18.0). The type-Ia supernova 2006bh also appeared in this galaxy (cf. CBETs 457, 492).
