Electronic Telegram No. 2355 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Morrell, Las Campanas Observatory, Carnegie Supernova Project; J. Prieto, Carnegie Observatories; and I. Botti, Universidad de Chile, write that on July 7.4 UT they obtained an optical spectrum (range 387-920 nm) of 2010ey (cf. CBET 2349) at Las Campanas Observatory, using the 2.5-m du Pont telescope (+ WFCCD), which reveals that 2010ey is an evolved type-Ia supernova. Assuming for the host galaxy the NED recession velocity of 1488 km/s (Wegner et al. 2003, A.J. 126, 2268), cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra via the Supernova Identification tool (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows that 2010ey is a normal type-Ia supernova several months after maximum brightness, best matching the spectrum of SN 2003du at 139 days after maximum light.
