A. G. Monard, Pretoria, South Africa, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 15.8) on several unfiltered CCD images taken on July 9.693 UT at the Bronberg Observatory. The new object, which was confirmed at magnitude 15.4 on images taken by Monard on July 10.686, is located at R.A. = 9h42m04s.77, Decl. = +0d19'51".0 (equinox 2000.0), which is 22" east and 21" south of the galaxy core of the nearby Sc-type galaxy NGC 2967. Nothing is seen at this position in Digitized Sky Survey images (limiting red mag 20.5) or on the previous image of this galaxy taken at the Bronberg Observatory on 2010 June 13.678 (limiting mag 18.5) or on earlier images by Monard.
