Electronic Telegram No. 2422 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Ayani, Bisei Astronomical Observatory (BAO); and K. Imamura, Okayama University of Science, report that low-resolution spectra (range 400-750 nm; resolution 0.5 nm at H-alpha) of 2010gz (cf. CBET 2415), obtained with the BAO 1.01-m telescope on Aug. 20.8 UT, show that 2010gz is a type-Ia supernova around maximum. The absorption minimum of the Si II 635.5-nm feature is blueshifted by about 11400 km/s, assuming the recession velocity of NGC 599 to be 5527 km/s (Ogando et al. 2008, A.J. 135, 2424).
