A. G. Monard reports his discovery of an apparent supernova in the nearby elliptical galaxy NGC 3258 on unfiltered CCD images taken at his Bronberg Observatory, with the discovery observation tabulated below: SN 2010 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. Offset 2010hx Sept. 16.122 10 28 51.06 -35 36 22.3 15.3 31" W, 2" S A faint patch is shown near the position of 2010hx in a red image from the Digitized Sky; this patch is not visible on Monard's own image from 2010 Aug 2.695 UT (limiting mag 18.5), but it is sometimes near the detection limit on earlier images from there. Additional magnitudes for 2010hx: Sept. 17.121, 15.2; 18.129, 15.4. NOTE: These 'Central Bureau Electronic Telegrams' are sometimes superseded by text appearing later in the printed IAU Circulars.
