Electronic Telegram No. 2581 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Green; Hoffman Lab 209; Harvard University; 20 Oxford St.; Cambridge, MA 02138; U.S.A. e-mail: cbatiau@eps.harvard.edu (alternate cbat@iau.org) URL http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/index.html Prepared using the Tamkin Foundation Computer Network SUPERNOVAE 2010ji, 2010kq, AND 2010kr R. J. Foley and R. Chornock, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, on behalf of a larger collaboration, report that a spectrum (range 320-830 nm), obtained on Dec. 10 UT with the Blue Channel Spectrograph on the 6.5-m MMT telescope, shows that 2010ji (cf. CBET 2528) is a type-II supernova, a few months after explosion; the absorption minimum of H-alpha is blueshifted by 5200 km/s. SNe 2010kq (cf. CBET 2578) and 2010kr (cf. CBET 2579) are type-Ia events. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows the best-fit ages for 2010kq and 2010kr are 1 day before and 23 days after maximum brightness, respectively. SN 2010kq shows evidence for C II 658.0-nm absorption blueshifted by 11800 km/s, which is a similar velocity to that found for Si II 635.5-nm (11200 km/s).
