Green; Hoffman Lab 209; Harvard University; 20 Oxford St.; Cambridge, MA 02138; U.S.A. e-mail: cbatiau@eps.harvard.edu (alternate cbat@iau.org) URL http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/index.html Prepared using the Tamkin Foundation Computer Network SUPERNOVA 2010lo NEAR NGC 4495 Alen Zizak and Filip Novoselnik, on behalf of the La Sagra Sky Survey (LSSS) Supernova Search Team (which also includes Denis Vida, Ivica Skokic, David Gostinski, Robert Gregic, Salvador Sanchez, Jaime Nomen, Reiner Stoss, Bill Yeung, Juan Rodriguez and Miguel Hurtado), report the discovery of an apparent supernova (magnitude 17.3) on three CCD images (limiting mag about 20.0) taken on Dec. 15.137, 15.146, and 15.156 UT with a 0.45-m telescope. The new object is located at R.A. = 12h31m23s.67, Decl. = +29d07'34".0 (equinox 2000.0), which is 12".0 east and 37".0 south of the nucleus of the presumed host galaxy, NGC 4495. Additional approximate magnitudes for 2010lo (from unfiltered CCD images unless otherwise noted): 1990 Jan. 29.47, [22 (Digitized Sky Survey, red plate); 2010 Mar. 15.935, [20 (LSSS); 2010 Dec. 16.197, 17.3 (LSSS).
