Electronic Telegram No. 5573 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams Mailing address: Hoffman Lab 209; Harvard University; 20 Oxford St.; Cambridge, MA 02138; U.S.A. e-mail: cbatiau@eps.harvard.edu (alternate cbat@iau.org) URL http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/index.html Prepared using the Tamkin Foundation Computer Network 3-SAGITTARIIDS METEOR OUTBURST 2025 P. Jenniskens, SETI Institute and NASA Ames Research Center; T. Cooper, Cameras for Allsky Meteor Surveillance (CAMS) project, South Africa; N. Moskovitz and S. Hemmelgarn, Lowell Observatory CAMS; J. Scott and W. J. Baggaley, CAMS, New Zealand; and M. Odeh, United Arab Emirates Astronomical Camera Network, report a meteor outburst of 3-Sagittariids (IAU shower 1132) starting on June 11 and ongoing on June 23, when 165 shower meteors were detected (see website URL http://cams.seti.org/FDL/ for dates of 2025 June 20-23). During the solar longitude interval 87.9-91.2 deg, the shower radiated from a compact geocentric radiant (with standard errors for the median) centered at R.A. = 270.16 +/- 0.08, Decl. = -29.00 +/- 0.05 with geocentric velocity 24.72 +/- 0.12 km/s (N = 112). The corresponding sun-centered radiant has longitude = 180.46 +/- 0.06 deg, latitude = -5.56 +/- 0.05 deg. The median orbital elements are those of a Jupiter-family comet with a = 2.97 AU, q = 0.543 +/- 0.001 AU, e = 0.816 +/- 0.004, i = 4.73 +/- 0.05 deg, Peri. = 91.5 +/- 0.1 deg, Node = 269.92 +/- 0.08 (equinox J2000.0). Past CAMS data only show a weak detection, and this shower was not included in the Atlas of Earth's Meteor Showers (Jenniskens 2023).
