Weryk, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Western Ontario, reports the discovery of another comet in four 45-s w-band survey images obtained in 1".4-1".7 seeing with the Pan-STARRS1 1.8-m Ritchey- Chretien reflector at Haleakala (discovery observations tabulated below); stacked images show a diffuse head of size 2".5 (full-width-at-half-maximum) with a 2"-long straight tail in p.a. 170 degrees. 2026 UT R.A. Wainscoat with the 3.6-m Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope on July 15.42 UT in 0".7-0".8 seeing (queue observer J. Silva; queue coordinator H. Flewelling) show a diffuse head of size 1".9 (FWHM) and a broad tail 5" long spanning p.a. 160-210 degrees. Additional follow-up images were obtained on July 22.34 by Y. Ramanjooloo with the 2.2-m University of Hawaii telescope; three 15-s stacked images taken in 1".2-1".3 seeing show a condensed head of size 2".2 (FWHM) with a tail about 8" long toward p.a. 180 degrees. Sixteen stacked 60-s CCD exposures taken remotely on July 20.52 UT by H. Sato (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Japan) with a 0.51-m f/6.8 astrograph located at Siding Spring, NSW, Australia, show a strongly condensed object with a possible coma 7" in diameter and no tail; the magnitude was 20.7 as measured within a circular aperture of radius 4".3. The available astrometry appears on MPEC 2026-Q42, which includes pre-discovery observations from Palomar made on July 12 and 14 UT that were reported after Weryk's report was posted on the Minor Planet Center's PCCP webpage. The following parabolic orbital elements by S. Nakano (Central Bureau) are from 84 observations spanning 2026 July 12-Aug. 16 (mean residual 0".4). There are no close approaches to major planets.
