PERIODIC COMET ASHBROOK-JACKSON (1970e)
Mr. Z. M. Pereyra, Cordoba Observatory for the CNEGH, cables
that he recovered this comet on May 1 with the 154-cm reflector at
Bosque Alegre. The comet is diffuse, with condensation and a tail
< 1o. The object seems to be identical with one he tentatively
reported in March, although on the first plate the guiding was poor
and the star field very crowded, and bad weather did not permit a
confirmation on a second night. The prediction on IAUC 2120 and
2193 requires correction by approximately AT = -0.14 day.

NOVA AQUILAE 1970
Dr. Y. Kozai, Tokyo Astronomical Observatory, writes that H.
Kosai has measured the following position from a plate taken with
a 50-cm Schmidt at the Dodaira station: R. A. = 19h22m15s.42, Decl. =
+4o08'51".0 (1950.0). Mr. Kosai identifies the prenova as a star
of magnitudes 19.4 (blue) and 17.6 (red) appearing on the Palomar
Sky Survey prints at a position differing from the above by dR.A. =
-0s.17, dDecl. = +0".3. He remarks, however, that there is another star,
of magnitudes 19.2 (blue) and 16.7 (red), at dR.A. = -0s.18, dDecl. =
-0".8.

The following magnitude estimates have been reported:
