PERIODIC COMET CLARK (1973i)
     Mr. A. C. Gilmore, Acting Director of the Carter Observatory,
Wellington, communicates the following precise positions:

   Kilmartin.
A. C. Gilmore, Pamela M. Kilmartin and R. E. Millington (Carter
   Observatory).  Re-reduction of the observation on IAUC 2545.
   41-cm Cassegrain reflector.  Coma about 10" in diameter and
   strongly condensed; whisp of tail, possibly fan shaped, 30" long in
   p.a. 250o.

     The prediscovery measurement confirms the suggestion (IAUC
2548) that the comet is a short-period one.  The following elements,
by the undersigned, satisfy the four accurate positions within 1":

     T = 1973 May 25.034 ET
 Peri. = 209.253                          e =   0.49795
 Node  =  59.087      1950.0              a =   3.10687 AU
 Incl. =   9.488                          n =   0.179978
     q =   1.55979 AU                     P =   5.48 years
