X-RAY BURSTS
     J. H. Swank, R. H. Becker, S. H. Pravdo, J. R. Saba and P. J.
Serlemitsos, Goddard Space Flight Center, report observations by
OSO 8 of four 2-20 keV x-ray burst sources, as shown below. C denotes
the peak count rate (in units of the Crab), N the number of
bursts observed, Delta-T the intervals between bursts and Delta-t the decay
time. The positional uncertainty is generally several degrees.

PERIODIC COMET SCHWASSMANN-WACHMANN 1
     J. Bortle, Brooks Observatory, reports the probable occurrence
of another small outburst (cf. IAUC 3007). His observation on Nov.
17.07 UT showed a perfectly stellar condensation; it had expanded
to diameter ~ 10" on Nov.19 and was subsequently invisible (32-cm
reflector). Total magnitudes: Nov. 19.10, 11.8; 22.12, 11.9.

Ten-minute exposures by E. Roemer with the Lunar and Planetary
Laboratory's 154-cm reflector on Oct. 26 showed well condensed images
(in fairly good seeing for the altitude) of m2 ~ 15.2. Total
