SUPERNOVA IN FAINT ScI GALAXY
     L. Rosino, Asiago Astrophysical Observatory, cables that he
has discovered a supernova 10" east and 15" south of the nucleus of
the galaxy VV 5-26-14 (Vorontsov-Vel'yaminov and Arkhipova 1964,
Morfologicheskij Katalog Galaktik) = Zw 155-16 (Zwicky and Herzog
1963, Catalogue of Galaxies and Clusters of Galaxies) = Anon.
1045+26 (de Vaucouleurs et al. 1976, Second Reference Catalogue of
Bright Galaxies), a faint ScI galaxy located at R.A. = 10h45m.7, Decl. =
+26o51' (equinox 1950.0). On Jan 15.93 UT the supernova had a
photographic magnitude of 16.5. The supernova 1971U occurred in
the same galaxy (cf. IAUC 2378).

PERIODIC COMET FAYE (1976i)
     M. P. Candy, Perth Observatory, communicates the following
precise position, obtained by P. Jekabsons with the 33-cm astrograph
at Bickley:

     1976 UT R. A. (1950) Decl.
     Nov. 23.51427 21 21 51.10 -10 39 40.0

     J. Bortle, Brooks Observatory, provides the following total
visual magnitude estimates and coma diameters, obtained using a 32-cm
reflector: 1976 Dec. 13.99 UT, 12.8, 1'.0; 18.99, 12.8, ~ 0'.8;
1977 Jan. 8.99, 12.7, ~ 0'.8; 11.98, 12.5, 1'.0.

PERIODIC COMET D'ARREST (1976e)
Further precise positions have been reported as follows:

A. C. Gilmore (Carter Observatory). 41-cm reflector. Measurer:
   P. M. Kilmartin.
M. P. Candy and P. Jekabsons (Perth Observatory, Bickley). 33-cm
   astrograph.
