NOVA SAGITTARII 1977
     D. R. Fawell, University of London Observatory, reports the
following preliminary position, measured by C. E. Chapman from a
plate taken with the 61-cm Radcliffe refractor: R.A. = 18h35m11s.83, Decl.
= -23o25'27".6 (equinox 1950.0).  Y. Kozai, Tokyo Observatory, also
reports a position, obtained by Hamajima and Ishida with the 105-cm
Schmidt telescope at Kiso; end figures are 11s.82, 26".0.

     J. Mattei, American Association of Variable Star Observers,
provides the following visual magnitude estimates by J. Morgan:
Mar. 31.51 UT, 8.8; Apr. 3.45, 9.1; 4.50, 8.8; 5.51, 9.3.


PERIODIC COMET GUNN
     The following precise position was obtained by P. Jekabsons
with the 33-cm astrograph at the Perth Observatory:
