COMET KOWAL (1977f)
     C. T. Kowal, Hale Observatories, provides the following
semiaccurate positions, obtained with the 122-cm Palomar Schmidt:

     1977 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. m1
     May 17.20174 13 51 22.3 -12 10 27 17
          19.18368 13 50 36.0 -12 01 21

The following elliptical elements, by the undersigned, satisfy
the five Palomar observations within 0".4. Since the May observations
are judged accurate to no better than 10", the elements must
still be very uncertain, but it appears that parabolic elements
leave unacceptable residuals in the April observations.
