COMET GICLAS (1978k)
     H. L. Giclas, Lowell Observatory, provides the following
additional precise positions. Measurer: M. L. Kantz.

     1978 UT             R. A. (1950) Decl.
     Sept.10.33750     0 07 58.69   - 9 23 09.4

          12.36736     0 07 39.07   - 9 46 38.8

     Parabolic and elliptical orbital elements have been determined
by the undersigned as shown below. The elliptical elements seem
more probable (although e is uncertain) and are used for the
ephemeris.

       T = 1979 Jan. 9.639       1978 Nov. 21.750 ET
   Peri. = 259.153               247.443

   Incl. =  14.107                 8.568
       q =   1.85782               1.73260 AU
       e =   1.0                   0.51434

              m1 = 13.5 + 5 log Delta + 10 log r

1978 PA
     R. M. West, European Southern Observatory, communicates
precise measurements for the observations reported on IAUC 3253 and
3255. It appears that the object is of Hungaria type. Further
details will appear on the Minor Planet Circulars.

V861 SCORPII
     R. F. Jameson, Leicester University, informs us that the item
on V861 Sco on IAUC 3261 should be ignored.
