     Further total visual magnitude estimates by D. Machholz, Los
Gatos, CA (25-cm reflector): Sept. 23.52 UT, 10.6; 28.49, 10.8.

   Observatory).  100-cm Schmidt telescope on Aug. 9 (prediscovery
   observation), 40-cm astrograph on Sept. 3.  Images very diffuse,
   uncondensed on the astrograph plate.  Measurer: R. M. West.
T. Urata (JCPM Yakiimo Sta.).  From Nihondaira Obs. Circ. No. 1009.

     The Aug. 9 observation confirms the Palomar one on Aug. 10 and
thus the second set of elements on IAUC 3271.  Resulting ephemeris:
