SS 433
     J. C. Kemp, M. S. Barbour and M. Arbabi, University of Oregon,
report: "Our photometry covers 84 nights in unfiltered light and 50
nights in V and a far-red band during July-Oct. A connection with
the 13-day period of Crampton et al. (IAUC 3388) is now clear, except
that the persistent or coherent effect in our data has the
half period of 6.5 days. The mean 6.5-day peak-to-peak amplitude
in V is 0.48 mag. The best-fit epoch with period 6.50 days is 1979
July 17.73 UT for light minimum. Data sent us by Leibowitz, Mazeh
and Sternberg (see IAUC 3414), 10 hours separated from ours, helped
to rule out specifically any 1-day aliases of 13 or 6.5 days; but
erratic low-amplitude variability also occurs on a timescale of
hours. The lightcurves show a general rise of 0.5 mag from July to
Oct., probably connected with the 164-day period."

NOVALIKE OBJECT IN VULPECULA
     T. E. Margrave, University of Montana, provides the following
UBV observations of this object (cf. IAUC 3344, 3346, 3348, etc.),
made with a 0.4-m reflector:

     1979 UT V B - V U - B 1979 UT V B - V U - B
     Aug. 6.35 8.92 +0.51 +0.49 Aug. 29.28 8.92 +0.55 +0.47
           9.32 8.92 - - Sept.15.36 8.82 +0.51 +0.49
          25.34 8.93 +0.55 +0.48 20.26 8.83 +0.59 +0.52

V-filter monitoring during Aug. 2.30-2.36 UT and Aug. 9.31-9.36 UT
revealed no variations greater than 0.02 mag. During Sept. 15.35-15.37
UT this object exhibited variations of 0.05 mag through the U
filter, while the control star difference did not exceed 0.007 mag.
