SUPERNOVAE IN ANONYMOUS GALAXIES
J. Maza, Department of Astronomy, University of Chile, telexes
that supernovae have been discovered as follows on exposures
obtained by L. E. Gonzalez at Cerro el Roble:
1982 UT R.A. (1950.0) Decl. mpg Discoverer
Aug. 18 0 29.0 -49 52 18 M. Wischnjewsky
Sept.17 2 30.1 -35 02 19 L. E. Gonzalez
The nature of the second object is uncertain. The offsets from
the nuclei of the parent galaxies are 10" west, 14" south, and
2" east, 9" south, respectively.
1982 RA
A. W. Harris, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, informs us that
photometric observations at Table Mountain Observatory on Sept. 22.2
UT gave V = 14.8, B = 15.5, with little variation over 1.5 hours.
The following improved orbital elements and ephemeris, by the
undersigned, are from MPC 7234 and 7241:
