Z ANDROMEDAE
     H. Netzer, Tel Aviv University, communicates: " The long expected
outburst of the symbiotic star Z And occurred during or before 1982
Aug. Spectroscopic observations at the Wise Observatory reveal very
noticeable changes in the emission lines. Most of the strong lines
have increased by a factor of two compared with their 1981 intensities,
while the red continuum has remained unchanged. Subsequent observations
in Sept. and Oct. show a rich Fe II spectrum not present a year earlier
and a sharp Balmer jump."

PERIODIC COMET D'ARREST (1982e)
Total visual magnitude estimates: Oct. 5.00 UT, 9.0 (J. Bortle,
Stormville, NY, 0.32-m reflector); 11.00, 9.1 (Bortle); 20.04, 9.9
(D. W. E. Green, Harvard, MA, 0.20-m reflector).
