     Eleanor Helin, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, reports her discovery
of a fast-moving asteroidal object on exposures with the 0.46-
m Schmidt telescope at Palomar as shown below.  A. Graps and S.
Swanson assisted.  Trail ends have been measured by R. S. Dunbar.

SUPERNOVA IN NGC 5473
     B. Szeidl, Konkoly Observatory, reports that M. Lovas has
discovered a supernova 20" west and 48" north of the nucleus of
NGC 5473.  On Dec. 14 the photographic magnitude was 15.0.
