K. Saito (Tokyo Observatory, Dodaira Station). Measurer: H. Kosai.
E. Helin (Palomar). 1.2-m Schmidt. Accidental image 1' in diameter,
slightly elongated, no definite condensation, tail 1' to
the west. Measurer: S. Swanson (assisted by R. S. Dunbar).
K. Ishida (Tokyo Observatory, Kiso Station). 1.05-m Schmidt.
A. Maury and R. Chemin (CERGA, Caussols). Semi-accurate position.
D. Balam (University of Victoria). 0.25-m f/2 Schmidt.
D. Herald (Kambah, near Canberra).
G. Kinnear (Perth Observatory). Comet diffuse with condensation,
tail ~ 1 deg. Communicated by P. Birch.
The following parabolic orbital elements have been derived by
the undersigned from eight of the above observations. It is quite
probable that the comet is a short-period one.
