SUPERNOVA 1985O IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY
     B. Szeidl, Konkoly Observatory, Budapest, telexes that M.
Lovas has discovered a supernova 12" east and 8" south of the
nucleus of an anonymous galaxy located at R.A. = 0h47m4, Decl. = +31deg28'
(equinox 1950.0). On Sept. 9 the object was at mpg = 16.5.

PECULIAR OBJECT IN SAGITTARIUS
     P. S. Osmer, Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory, reports
the discovery by A. Gomez of a peculiar object at R.A. = 18h05m56s, Decl.
= -32o11'34" (equinox 1950.0), having dimensions ~ 3"5 x 5"5.
Spectra obtained at Cerro Tololo by M. T. Ruiz, C. Anguita and J.
Maza, University of Chile, show the object to be of spectral type
A or early F, with V ~ 15.0 and B-V ~ +0.3. J, H and K observations
by K. Kawara show the object to be a strong infrared emitter.
These preliminary observations suggest that this object may
be similar to such rare objects as "Minkowski's Footprint" (Herbig
1975, Ap.J. 200, 1), the "Egg Nebula" (Ney et al. 1975, Ap.J. 198,
L129; Crampton et al. 1975, Ap.J. 198, L135), or the "Red
Rectangle" (Cohen et al. 1975, Ap.J. 196, 179).

CORRIGENDUM
The correction line 3 from the end of IAUC 4085 referring to
IAUC 4066 concerns comet 1984f, not comet 1984e.

1985 September 16 (4108) Brian G. Marsden
