POSSIBLE SUPERNOVA IN M31
     A. M. Cherepashchuk, Sternberg State Astronomical Institute,
reports the discovery by N. Metlova of a possible supernova in M31,
located at R.A. = 0h41m.8, Decl. = +41 35' (equinox 1950.0). On Nov.
21.783 UT, mpg = 11.0.

COMET BRADFIELD (1987s)
     R. W. Russell, D. K. Lynch, and M. A. Chatelain, report: "We
obtained infrared observations of comet Bradfield 1987s using the
Mt. Lemmon NASA/Steward 1.5-m telescope (with a 17" aperture,
lamda/delta-lambda = 50, circular variable filter, and a 2' chop).
Magnitudes relative to beta Peg: Nov. 20.1 UT, K = 7.2 +/- 0.2, L
= 5.0, N' = -1.5; Nov. 21.1, K = 7.5 +/- 0.2, L = 5.3; Nov. 22.1,
K = 7.3 +/- 0.2, L = 4.8, M = 3.1, N' = 1.6.  The CVF spectrum on
Nov. 22.1 shows a 3.6/13.0 ;m color temperature of about 390 K and
evidence for a silicate emission feature about 50 percent above the
3.6/13.0 ;m continuum near 10 ;m. From Nov. 20-22, we find evidence
for about 20 percent variability, suggesting some activity."
Total visual magnitude estimates (B = binoculars): Nov. 13.72
UT, 5.8 (P. Schmeer, Bischmisheim, West Germany, 20x80 B); 14.75,
5.5 (C. Franciosi, Varese, Italy, 10x50 B); 16.11, 5.6 (A. Hale,
Las Cruces, NM, 10x50 B); 18.83, 5.3 (A. Pereira, Linda-A-Velha,
Portugal, 9x34 B); 19.75, 5.4 (J.-C. Merlin, Le Creusot, France,
8x30 B); 20.75, 5.6 (J. D. Shanklin, Cambridge Observatories, 10x80
B; 3.11-deg tail in p.a. 71 deg); 21.12, 5.3 (M. Magee, Tucson, AZ, 10x50
B); 24.16, 5.4 (J. V. Scotti, Kitt Peak, AZ, 10x50 B; 3 deg tail).

PERIODIC COMET HALLEY (1982i)
Total visual magnitude estimates by D. Levy, Mt. Bigelow, AZ,
(1.5-m reflector): Nov. 19.52 UT, 14.6; 20.53, 14.4.

V1819 CYGNI
Visual magnitude estimates (cf. IAUC 4457): Oct. 1.84 UT,
12.8 (S. Korth, Monheim, W. Germany); 19.83, 13.7 (A. Boattini,
Florence, Italy); 20.53, 13.3 (S. Sakuma, Kawasaki, Japan); 27.49,
13.3 (Sakuma); 30.82, 13.6 (Boattini).
