A. Whitelock and R. M. Catchpole, South African Astronomical Observatory, report: "Bolometric fluxes derived from U to M photometry of SN 1987A made between days 633 and 687 show a decline rate with an e- folding time of 63 days, similar to that observed between days 530 and 580. This suggests that the change in decline rate that occurred between days 580 and 633 (IAUC 4680, 4690) was a transient dip in an otherwise almost steady decline. However, two observations made since day 690 lie systematically brighter by 0.06 magnitude. We note that the U to M bolometric flux depends critically on the M observations, and further measurements are required to confirm this latter trend." 1989 January 30 (4725) Brian G. Marsden
