V745 SCORPII
     W. Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile, reports his discovery with
PROBLICOM of a nova at R.A. = 17h52m.1, Decl. = -33d13' (equinox
1950.0).  Magnitude estimates from 2415 film are: July 24.02 UT, [12;
30.08, 9.7 (with orange filter); 31.02, 9.7. He suggests that this is
a recurrence of the 1937 nova V745 Sco (Plaut 1958, Leiden Ann. 21, 3),
which Duerbeck (1987, Reference Catalogue and Atlas of Galactic Novae)
has tentatively identified with a mag 21 object on a U.K. Schmidt J
plate at R.A. = 17h52m01s.35, Decl. = -33d14'32".5 (equinox 1950.0).

GK PERSEI
     J. Mattei, AAVSO, communicates the following visual magnitude
estimates: July 29.33 UT, 11.9 (J. Bortle, Stormville, NY); 29.33,
11.8 (G. Dyck, North Dartmouth, MA); 30.33, 11.9 (Dyck); 30.34,
12.0 (J. Griese, Stamford, CT). She also notes that, although
this may simply be a rather faint outburst, a standstill at this
level has sometimes in the past preceded by 15-20 days some
further brightening. It is therefore possible that the object may
reach mag 10.5 or brighter around Aug. 15.

SUPERNOVA 1989L IN NGC 7339
     Visual magnitude estimates: July 3.4 UT, 15.7 (D. Patchick, Culver
City, CA); 6.2, 16.0 (R. Parmentier, Green Bay, WI); 10.3, 16.5 (S.
Lucas, Midlothian, IL); 14.1, 16.0 (Parmentier).

AX PERSEI
     Visual magnitudes: Mar. 3.88 UT, 11.2 (A. Pereira, Cabo da
Roca, Portugal); 6.84, 11.2 (S. Korth, Dusseldorf, West Germany);
11.0, 11.2 (J. E. Bortle, Stormville, NY); 18.85, 10.6 (Pereira);
24.77, 11.3 (A. Boattini, Florence, Italy); 31.09, 11.1 (P. Sventek,
Houston, TX); Apr. 7.84, 10.8 (P. Schmeer, Bischmisheim, West Germany);
11.1, 11.0 (Bortle); 23.1, 11.0 (Bortle); May 7.08, 10.5 (Korth);
25.08, 9.9 (Korth); June 3.2, 10.0 (Bortle); 11.2, 9.8 (Bortle); 20.06,
10.0 (Schmeer); 30.05, 9.7 (Pereira); July 9.2, 9.7 (Bortle); 16.95,
9.9 (Schmeer); 21.08, 9.8 (Schmeer); 27.14, 9.8 (Pereira).

PERIODIC COMET SCHWASSMANN-WACHMANN 1
     Total visual magnitude estimates by C. S. Morris at Pine Mountain
Club, CA (0.26-m reflector): July 29.40 UT, 13.5; 31.45, 13.4.
