TWO MILLISECOND PULSARS IN M5
     A. Wolszczan, Arecibo Observatory; and S. Anderson, S. Kulkarni,
and T. Prince, California Institute of Technology, report: "We
have discovered two millisecond pulsars, PSR 1516+02A and PSR
1516+02B in the direction of the globular cluster M5 (NGC 5904).
Both objects have a dispersion measure of 29.5 +/- 1 pc cmE-3,
and their periods are 5.5 ms and 7.9 ms, respectively. Observations
were made with the 305-m Arecibo radiotelescope at 430 MHz using
the 40-MHz correlation spectrometer. The data were analyzed on
the IBM 3090 supercomputer of the Cornell National Supercomputer
Facility. PSR 1516+02B is a binary pulsar with a velocity amplitude
of at least 20 km/s. The estimated 430-MHz flux density of both
pulsars is of the order of 0.5 mJy."

UV PERSEI

one having occurred in 1988 Oct.), as indicated by the following
visual magnitude estimates: Oct. 15.83 UT, [12.6 (P. Schmeer,
Bischmisheim, W. Germany); 16.83, 12.3 (G. Poyner, Birmingham,
England); 17.11, 11.7 (Schmeer); 17.71, 12.5 (J. Isles, Limasol,
