Laguna; L. Norci, Istituto di Astronomia, Universita 'La Sapienza',
Rome; V.F. Polcaro, Istituto di Astrofisica Spaziale, CNR,
Frascati, and Dipartmento di Aerospaziale, Universita 'La Sapienza',
Rome; and C. Rossi, Istituto di Astronomia, Universita 'La
Sapienza', Rome, write: "We have performed a photometric infrared
(J, H, K, L) survey of the open cluster Berkeley 87 with the 1.5-m
telescope at the Teide Observatory (Canary Is.) using a cooled
InSb photometer with a chopping system for sky subtraction. A
strong source (H = 9.32; K = 7.14; L = 5.14) has been found at
R.A. = 20h19m17s.5, Decl. = +37 20'57" (equinox 1950.0).  The
source does not seem to have an optical couterpart (to V = 15),
it is undetectable in the J band, and it is not listed in the IRAS
catalogue. Furthermore, we notice the unusual infrared excess of
star number 73 in Turner and Forbes 1982 (P.A.S.P. 94, 789).  This
star has B = 14.47 and B-V = +2.64 (ibid.), while the near-infrared
magnitudes are J = 8.95, H = 7.74, K = 7.29."
