Mauersberger, L. J. Sage, and C. Henkel, Max-Planck-Institut fur Radioastronomie, Bonn, communicate: "We have detected extragalactic CH3CCN (propyne/methyl acetylene), the most complex molecule known to date outside the Galaxy. The J = 5-4, 6-5, and 8-7 lines were observed with the IRAM 30-m telescope near the nucleus of M82. Several transitions of the K multiplet of the J = 6-5 spectrum are tentatively resolved, suggesting an excitation temperature well in excess of 50 K." 1989 UR Extension to the ephemeris on IAUC 4891: 1989 ET R.A.
