COMET AUSTIN (1989c1)
     D. G. Schleicher and D. J. Osip, Lowell Observatory, write:
"Aperture photometry obtained on Apr. 26 using the Lowell 1.07-m
telescope yield Haser model production rates: log Q(C2) = 26.6, log
Q(CN) = 26.6, and log Q(OH) = 28.7. The C2 and CN production rates
are similar to those measured in mid-March (IAUC 4983), as is the
measured dust production, with log (A f rho) = 3.1. These values
may be up to 20 percent too low due to changing sky conditions.
Corresponding magnitudes of C2 (514.0 nm) and continuum (484.5 nm)
in a 75"-diameter aperture were 5.0 and 7.8, respectively."
The following post-perihelion precise positions have been
reported:
