NOVA HERCULIS 1991
     We have received independent nova discovery reports from Matsuo
Sugano, Kakogawa-shi, Japan (via H. Kosai, National Astronomical
Observatory of Japan), and from George Alcock, Yaxley, Peterborough,
England (via G. M. Hurst, Basingstoke, England), and the following
visual magnitude estimates are available:  Mar. 24.781, 5.4 (Sugano;
photovisual); 25.19, 5 (Alcock); 25.67, 6.5 (R. H. McNaught, University
of Adelaide); 25.69, 6.8 (Sugano). McNaught forwards the following
position obtained by T. Harrison with the Siding Spring 2.3-m
telescope (+ shaft encoders): R.A. = 18h44m12s.5, Decl. = +12 10'51"
(equinox 1950.0). Sugano's photographic discovery was made on Tri-X
film; he notes that no object appears to mag 9 on Mar. 17.80 UT.
Alcock's visual discovery was made in strong twilight with 10x50
binoculars. D. Buczynski, Conder Brow Observatory, reports that the
object exhibits apparently stellar motion on confirmatory photographs
taken Mar. 20 UT. McNaught notes that there is nothing at
this position on Atlas Stellarum to mag 13, nor is there anything on
the Palomar Sky Survey to mag 14 within 10" of the above position.

V854 CENTAURI
     Visual magnitude estimates (cf. IAUC 5203): Mar. 10.12 UT, 8.9

(McNaught); 11.62, 10.2 (McNaught); 12.47, 10.9 (P. F. Williams,
Heathcote, N.S.W); 13.54, 11.2 (McNaught); 16.44, 11.0 (Williams);
17.75, 10.6 (McNaught); 18.49, 10.7 (Williams); 21.70, 10.5 (McNaught).

PERIODIC COMET SWIFT-GEHRELS (1991c)
     Total visual magnitude estimates by A. Hale, Las Cruces, NM
(0.41-m reflector):  Mar. 13.12 UT, 12.4; 17.12, 12.5.

PERIODIC COMET WOLF-HARRINGTON (1990e)
     Total visual magnitude estimates (cf. IAUC 5183): Feb. 17.13
UT, 12.6 (Hale); Mar. 9.16, 12.3 (C. S. Morris, Pine Mountain Club,
CA, 0.26-m reflector); 13.15, 12.5 (Hale); 17.15, 12.6 (Hale).
