COMET HELIN-ALU (1992a)
E. Helin and J. Alu report their discovery of a comet on films
exposed by them and K. Lawrence with the 0.46-m Schmidt telescope at
Palomar. The object is described as diffuse without central
condensation. Measurements by Alu:

SUPERNOVA 1992A IN NGC 1380
N. Suntzeff, Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory, reports
that photometry based on CCD data obtained by J. Parker, D. Hunter,
and T. Barnes with the CTIO 1.5-m and 0.9-m telescopes shows that
SN 1992A reached maximum light around Jan. 16 UT. The brightness at
maximum was V = 12.78.
