SUPERNOVA 1992V IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY
     M. Della Valle, European Southern Observatory, reports that a
spectrogram (range 380-680 nm, resolution about 2 nm) of SN 1992V
(cf. IAUC 5507, 5508), obtained with the 3.6-m telescope (+ EFOSC)
at La Silla on May 5.2 UT under non-photometric conditions, shows
this object to be a type-Ia supernova about 3 weeks past maximum.
Strong emissions are measured at 412, 480, 515, 548, 618, and 670 nm.

1992 May 7 (5515) Daniel W. E. Green
