PERIODIC COMET ASHBROOK-JACKSON (1992j)
     A. C. Gilmore and P. M. Kilmartin report their recovery of
this comet, as shown below. Their observations appear to confirm a
single-night detection reported more than a year ago. The position
is in close agreement with the prediction on MPC 16380 (ephemeris
on MPC 19528).

M. Lindgren and G. Tancredi (La Palma). 2.5-m Nordic telescope.
   Not obviously cometary.
A. C. Gilmore and P. M. Kilmartin (Mt. John).  0.6-m reflector.
   Weak, stellar images on May 4, more convincing images on May 29.

NOVA SCORPII 1992
     Additional photometry by W. H. Allen, Carter Observatory (cf.
IAUC 5536, 5542):  June 12.42 UT, V = 8.15, B-V = +1.06, U-B =
+0.04.
     A. C. Gilmore and P. M. Kilmartin also report the following
photometry obtained at Mount John University Observatory: June
14.369 UT, V = 8.24 +/- 0.01, B-V = +0.94 +/- 0.01, U-B = -0.06
+/- 0.06, V-R = +0.83 +/- 0.02, V-I = +1.53 +/- 0.06.
     W. Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile, reports the following
magnitudes, the first two being revisions of those published on IAUC
5535 (using the AAVSO preliminary magnitude sequence) and the
remaining estimates being derived from unfiltered CCD images (effective
wavelength about 650 nm):  June 1.03 UT, 8.5; 2.19, 8.8; 3.20,
8.22; 9.05, 7.66; 10.02, 7.87: (through clouds); 11.14, 7.33;
12.19, 7.41.
     Visual magnitude estimates (cf. IAUC 5535), reported in part
by the AAVSO:  June 5.97 UT, 8.5 (J. Ripero, Madrid, Spain);
7.174, 8.6 (R. Campbell, Clearwater, FL); 11.138, 8.1: (Campbell).
