Maza, University of Chile; and M. Hamuy, Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory, report the discoveries of two apparent supernovae on 20-min unfiltered IIa-O plates taken by M. Wischnjewsky (University of Chile) with the CTIO Curtis Schmidt telescope. SN 1992ai, found by R. Antezana, was at mpg about 17.5 on a plate taken July 5.420 UT, and is located about 2".5 west and 7" south of the nucleus of a spiral galaxy at R.A. = 1h26m50s.4, Decl. = -32 31'52" (equinox 1950.0). SN 1992aj, found by Wischnjewsky, was at mpg about 17 on a plate taken July 5.3, and is located about 9" east and 5" north of the nucleus of a spiral galaxy at R.A. = 23h45m12s.5, Decl. = -35 28'39". Confirmation of both supernovae was made by R. Aviles (CTIO) and F. Barrientos (University of Chile) with V CCD images obtained on July 14 and 15 with the 1-m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. Neither star appears on European Southern Observatory Sky Survey photographs. NOTICE CONCERNING TELEGRAMS Due to increased costs for telegram communication in North America, the charges to telegram subscribers of mailgrams and telephoned telegrams are increased from $4.00 and $9.00 to $7.00 and $15.00, respectively, effective immediately. North American subscribers who have machines for receiving regular telex messages will continue to receive messages for $4.00 each. Charges for normal telegrams outside North America remain at $7.00, but the standard charge for cablegrams is now $17.00. NOVA SAGITTARII 1992 No. 2 Unfiltered CCD magnitudes (uncertainty about 0.05 mag) by W. Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile: July 12.01 UT, 8.30; 13.02, 8.13; 13.99, 8.34. Further visual magnitude estimates: July 11.55 UT, 7.7 (F. Farrell, Adelaide, S. Australia); 14.58, 8.0 (Farrell); 16.46, 8.5 (P. Camilleri, Cobram, Victoria, Australia). NOVA SCORPII 1992 Liller also reports further unfiltered CCD magnitudes of this object (cf. IAUC 5550): July 8.12 UT, 8.34; 9.11, 8.48 (through clouds); 12.00, 8.08; 13.01, 7.91; 13.98, 7.80. 1992 July 17 (5564) Daniel W. E. Green
