The object was detected on difference images because it is not visible on my reference images obtained with the 0.51-m CDK at UDRO on 2026 July 25. Further inspection revealed that the position of PNV J00425465+4122593 is consistent with that of M31N 2016-07f (AT 2016ept). Examination of the ALeRCE/ZTF light curve and the negative observations reported on the TNS page of AT 2016ept suggests that the source is most likely a long-period eclipsing variable. The folded light curve shows deep recurring eclipses, while the current brightness (~18.9 mag) is consistent with historical measurements of M31N 2016-07f / AT 2016ept. -- Robert Fidrich, Budakeszi, Hungary.
