This is apparently the first recorded outburst of a previously known cataclysmic variable 1RXS J014549.6+514314 = MGAB-V277. The variable was initially identified by Gabriel Murawski, and later classified as an intermediate polar based on the Isaac Newton Telescope optical spectrum by Elme Breedt who attributed the short period modulation in the optical lightcurve to the white dwarf rotation period, according to the variable's AAVSO VSX record https://vsx.aavso.org/index.php?view=detail.top&oid=844443 The star's magnitude range is listed as 15.9 - 18.2 g. The current CV=13.4 outburst was detected on 2025-08-23.9050 with the NMW survey camera (135mm f/2.0 telephoto lens + unfiltered ST-8300M CCD). The same field was imaged three hours earlier on 2025-08-23.7756 with the second NMW camera (135mm f/2.0 telephoto lens + unfiltered STL-11000M CCD), showing no object brighter than CV~14.0 at the position of the variable. ---- Stanislav Korotkiy (Astroverty, Ka-Dar), Evgeniia Shevtsova, Kirill Sokolovsky (UIUC) for the NMW team
