2013 09 03.06

F. Ciabattari, E. Mazzoni and R. Simonetti report the discovery of an apparent supernova (unfiltered magnitude = 18.5) on images (limiting magnitude 19.5) obtained on August 03.06 and August 04.10 with a 0.5m Newtonian telescope + CCD FLI Proline 4710 camera at Borgo a Mozzano - Italy, in the course of the Italian Supernovae Search Project. The new object is located at A.R. = 01h57m33s.55, Decl. = -02°05'57".2 (equinox 2000.0, astrometry with respect to UCAC-2 stars) which is 4 arcsec West and 9 arcsec North of the centre of Galaxy UGC 1442.

2013 09 03.06

This is a correction to the previous followup report: the discovery and confirmation dates are September 03.06 and September 04.10, not August 03.06 and August 04.10 as erroneously reported. Apologies. F. Ciabattari

2013 09 04.964

This transient was observed on 2013 09 04.964 by Gianluca Masi, Francesca Nocentini and Patrick Schmeer, remotely using the 17" robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Ceccano, Italy. Unfiltered images show a source at mag. 18.3 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). We also performed astrometry, getting the following end figures: 33.57s; 58.5" (J2000.0, mean residuals of 0.15" on both axes).
