This possible supernova in PGC 2171876 was detected with 5 x 15 min images using an infrared filter Astrometry: RA 02 24 22.38 Dec +40 51 02.3 Photometry: 18.22 +/- 0.33 IR > 700 nm (R as ref) These data were collected remotely by Joseph Brimacombe, Cairns, Australia.
