Mag.= 17.2, position end figures 58s.69, 41".2 observed by T. Noguchi, Chiba-ken, Japan, from a stocked frame (limit mag.= 18.0) exposed by 40-s x 4 frames using 0.23-m f/6.3 Schmidt-Cassegrain + unfiltered CCD. Position and magnitude were measured from UCAC3. Photomtry results of this PSN are V=16.64 and I_c=16.35 with 0.43-m f/6.8 astrograph + FLI-PL6303E CCD + f/4.5 focal reducer (T21, iTelescope.NET, Mayhill, NM, USA) Seiichiro Kiyota (Tsukuba, Japan).




2013 04 29.1398

L. Elenin (Lyubertsy, Russia) and I. Molotov (Moscow, Russia) confirm an apparent supernova PSN J05415876+6921409 in NGC 1961. Object visible on 3x150sec images remotely taken at ISON-NM Observatory (Mayhill, NM, USA) with 0.45-m f/2.8 telescope + CCD (KAF09000) on Apr. 29.1398, 2013. Object located at 05h 41m 58s.73 +/- 0".09, +69d 21' 40".9 +/- 0".07 (UCAC-4) with magnitude 16.6U (mag. limit ~20.3m). Nothing is visible at this position on the POSS and POSSII images. This possible supernova in NGC 1961 was detected with 5 x 5 min images using a luminance filer and 4 x 5 min images using an infrared filter Astrometry: RA 05 41 58.68 Dec +69 21 41.2 Photometry: 16.51 +/- 0.34 L (V as ref); 16.40 +/- 0.29 IR > 700 nm (R as ref) These data were collected remotely by Joseph Brimacombe, Cairns, Australia using a 51-cm RCOS and STL11K camera.
